We live in a world filled with stress. Unbeknownst to us, we spend most of our waking hours immersed in our body’s ‘fight or flight response’. This keeps us overly tense, hyper-focused and ready to fight or flee at a moments notice.
The ‘fight or flight response’ is an invaluable function of our body that is meant to keep us safe us. Ideally, after the ‘fight or flight’ response is triggered, and we’ve survived the experience, out body relaxes and goes back into ‘normal’ every day mode.
But in the modern world and the lifestyles that we live, the ‘fight or flight response is triggered many, many times throughout the day. After awhile, it becomes more and more difficult for our bodies to move back into ‘normal’. In a sense the body becomes addicted to the chemicals that are produced by the emotions that are elicited in this process. And like any addiction, the subconscious begins to crave and seek out experiences that trigger those chemicals.

This process turns into a cycle that many of us have a difficult time interrupting
When we find ourselves in the on-going cycle of pain or illness in it’s many forms or stubborn pounds that don’t want to budge, the quality of our life is greatly diminished.
We may find ourselves constantly thinking about our pain, health challenge or excess weight. We may criticize and judge ourselves because we can’t seem to find the answers that will resolve the issues. We may become frustrated and feel like a victim of our physical challenges.
Most likely we have tried everything under the sun to find answers; from traditional western medical care, to acupuncture, Chinese medicine, massage, herbs, essential oils, naturopathic practitioners, talk therapy and many more, to no avail.
So what’s a person to do?
Often times there is an energetic/emotional component to our physical challenges. Along with the concrete physical actions that we are taking, there are other tools available that will support the process.
We’ve learned from quantum physics that everything is energy. All of the things in the world that we consider to be physical are 99.99999% empty space or energy. We’ve also learned that our mind and the thoughts we think are extremely powerful. In fact the thoughts we think over and over become our reality. Another way to say this is that our thoughts create our reality, our reality doesn’t create our thoughts.

The challenge here is that science also tells us that 90 plus percent of the thoughts that are affecting us are running on the subconscious level. This is similar to those programs running in the background of your computer hard drive that slow it down and in the case of a virus program, cause your computer to malfunction.
Attempting to access these thoughts through the conscious mind doesn’t work.
So how do we connect to these subconscious thoughts?
By doing something different. By giving ourselves the gift of sitting quietly, closing our eyes, and bringing our attention and awareness within. By focusing on our breathing. As we do this we disconnect from the stimulus of the outer, physical world that we perceive through our five physical senses.
We start to become more aware of what’s going on within us. We begin to tap into our subtle senses.

Does this sound like meditation? Well that’s because it is. Meditation can be this simple.
Give this a try for the next several days. Spend 5 or 10 minutes each day being quiet and going within. Let it be simple. Let it be easy. Let go of anything you may have heard about meditation in the past. Let go of any of your past experiences of meditation. Let go of any thought that you can’t do it or are doing it wrong. Let go of needing to have a quiet mind. It’s okay if thoughts arise, simply acknowledge them and let them go.
The more you acknowledge the thoughts, the less they will bother you. It’s a good idea to keep some paper and pen next to you to jot down anything that comes up that you want to remember.
You may find that creative ideas and solutions begin to surface when you let yourself enjoy this quiet space within.
Here’s an additional step that you can add to help you release the chronic physical challenges that you’ve been experiencing.

As you breathe in, imagine gathering up the pain, disease, excess weight, etc. into a big basket. On the out breathe imagine emptying the basket into a big trash chute that goes into the center of the Earth. The Earth has the ability to transmute this ‘trash’ into pure life force energy to be returned to wherever it came from.
Just a note: please don’t discount the power of your imagination. Everything in your life was a thought before it was a physical thing. If you can imagine it, you can have it. It just takes a clear intention and repetition.
These are just a few of the techniques that I have used to assist my clients in creating the life transformations they were seeking.
